Grief and Loss

Loss may be the end of a relationship through death, separation, divorce, or a breakup.   Loss also includes letting go of an idea that we clung to. Such as the image we had of our parents (that they met all of our needs), or a substance, or an old coping mechanism that was not helpful.

When we experience a loss, we must grieve.  Grieving means letting yourself feel all your feelings (mad, sad, scared, etc.).

When we don’t properly grieve and mourn, the issue becomes unresolved and will continue to affect us.
